CHOps Pro - Scheduled Backups and Archival
Automated backups and archival for the ClickHouse® database
The open-source core gives you guided, on-demand BACKUP and RESTORE. CHOps Pro adds the automation: recurring backups with retention policies, and scheduled archival of aging data to object storage, so your data lifecycle runs on a schedule instead of a reminder.
Scheduled automated backups
Set backups to run on a recurring schedule to S3, GCS, or Azure, with retention policies that expire old snapshots automatically. Recovery points are created and cleaned up without anyone running a statement by hand, so a missed backup is never one forgotten task away.
Scheduled archival
Move aging or cold data out to S3-compatible object storage on a cadence you define, using the ClickHouse® database s3() function. Archival is about long-term retention and storage cost, keeping data you must keep out of hot storage, and it complements point-in-time backups rather than replacing them.
Backups versus archival
Native BACKUP and RESTORE, available free in the Community edition, capture consistent restore points for disaster recovery. Scheduled Archival is ongoing lifecycle management for retention and cost. Many teams use both: automated backups for recovery, scheduled archival for keeping historical data affordably.
One storage configuration
Scheduled backups and archival reuse the same S3-compatible storage profiles CHOps already uses, so any provider that works for backups (Amazon S3, Google Cloud Storage, Azure Blob, MinIO, Wasabi, or Cloudflare R2) works here too. Configure once, schedule everywhere.
